We have updated our Privacy Statement

We have updated YTN’s Privacy Statement in order to clarify how we process personal data. Among other things, the update specifies the data disclosure practices, storage times and your right to access your own data.

We have compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions that you may have 1) as a member of YTN’s member union and/or 2) as YTN’s personnel representative below.

Why and how do we process personal data?

The processing of personal data is necessary for our advocacy work and the provision of our services. Your privacy is important to us, and we want to give you as accurate an overview as possible of what data we collect and where we obtain it.

We process your data in accordance with the data protection regulations, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), other legislation and the data protection and register descriptions available on our website.

We have updated the Privacy Statement to clarify our processes of storing, disclosing and processing data. Here is what you need to know 1) as a member of a YTN affiliate and/or 2) as YTN’s personnel representative.

To members of YTN’s member unions

What does the Privacy Statement describe?

The privacy statement describes how we process your data and who has the right to process it. It also describes the ways in which your data is disclosed to third parties.

What has changed?

The essential parts of the Privacy Statement have remained the same. Among other things, we have specified the regular disclosures of data (i.e. to which partners we disclose your data and why), your right to access your data and the storage times of data.

Where do you obtain my information?

We obtain information on the members of YTN affiliates to our membership register directly from our member unions. The member unions disclose data to us in accordance with their own Privacy Statement. If your information is incorrect or your workplace has changed, for example, always inform the membership register of your own union about it.

What is my data used for?

We use your data for YTN’s general communications or for the communications of your own contract branch, for example.

What should I do now?

You don’t need to do anything. We will continue to process your data in accordance with our Privacy Statement. If you would like to review your data, you can request it from the Data Protection Officer: tietosuojavastaava@ytn.fi

To YTN’s personnel representatives

What does the Privacy Statement describe?

Where do you obtain my information?

We obtain information on the personnel representatives through the online service. Our information is based on your own reporting.

You can always review and edit your data in our online service. Remember to inform about your new term in our online service and to your own union. This way, you will always receive our communications. Please also check that you have entered your own member union and contract branch to your own information in the online service.

What is my data used for?

We use your data for the communications of your own contract branch, for example. The data of personnel representatives is disclosed to the training platform’s service provider, for example, in order to provide them with access to our training platform.

What should I do now?
