YTN is not participating in the strike of TU

The members of the Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff (YTN) unions are not participating in the strike of the Union of Salaried Employees TU. The main reason for the strike is that TU is trying to recruit YTN members by organising the walkout.
Some 2,000 technology employees of TU are planning to strike on December 1 if an agreement on labour contracts and wages is not met. TU issued a strike warning to the Federation of Finnish Technology Industries on Monday.
The weeklong walk-out would include workers from the engineering company ABB, mobile phone maker Nokia, shipbuilder STX, and steel supplier
Rautaruukki.
TU also insinuated a more expansive strike early next year if its demands are not met during the first walkout.
