Senior salaried employees in the energy industry work for companies that produce, acquire, transmit and sell electricity, district heat and district cooling as well as offer related services.
YTN represents 3,500 experts and superiors in the industry. They work, among other things, at Fortum, Teollisuuden Voima TVO, Fingrid, Caruna and Elenia. In addition, there are a lot of jobs in regional energy and network companies, such as in Helen and Vantaan Energia.
The employer union in the industry is Finnish Energy (Energiateollisuus ry). The senior salaried employees in the industry have their own collective labour agreement.
In the background group of the industry, both the largest companies operating within the industry in Finland and small and medium-sized companies are represented. The main duties of the background group are to decide on the goals for the representation of interest groups, guide the operations and prepare a presentation to YTN’s Executive Board on the approval or dismissal of the energy industry’s negotiation results. Where necessary, the background group makes also proposals to the Executive Board on industrial actions.
